Term 1
During the beginning of the year we started with a review of everything we had covered in Portuguese 1, last year. We reviewed the AR,ER and IR verbs, tying them into a new unit using the present progressive tense. Another part of reviewing we did was on the rules of plurals in Portuguese. Another section from last year that we reviewed were possessive adjectives and when to use them. After we tested on the review of last year, we started doing the vocab to describe your family. This unit culminated into a power point presentation describing certain members of our family we had to describe, (how old they were, their relation to us, their job, 3 adjectives about them, where they went to school, etc). The next unit we began doing related to describing rooms and objects within your house. We did multiple assignments describing the divisions of a home, and objects within each room. We learned certain areas such as the backyard, living room, attic, etc. This also culminated into a power point presentation describing our idea of a dream house. In this project we had to choose 8 rooms to write about, explain what room it is, describe 3 things in the room and explain one verb of what you could do in the room.

Term 2
During the beginning of Term 2 we were working on irregular verbs and culture of some parts of Portugal. After being quizzed on both of these parts, we began to study the ordinals in Portuguese. We learned the ordinals for 1-20 and then were quizzed on that along side some specific adverbs we were given in class. After that we had wrapped up the first book of Bom-Dia and were given a chapter test on the first book. After testing on that we began the second book for Portuguese and started studying the Madeira and Azores archipelagos. We reviewed the Madeira Islands first and were given a study guide for an upcoming quiz. The quiz we were given for Madeira was to write an essay about everything we knew about Madeira. After we finished that we began to study the Azores archipelago. Everyone in the class was given a certain island and we had to create a PowerPoint describing the culture and life on that specific island. We also had to make a study guide about our island and hand it to the rest of the class so they could study the island when we were quizzed on that archipelago. This same quiz as Madeira was used, which was writing an essay, as much as you could, about that specific archipelago. After that we started learning vocabulary relating to the game of soccer. We reviewed several times about this and were given a quiz on that specific vocabulary. Towards the end of the term we focused on stem changing verbs, and the rules that come along with them.

Term 3
During the beginning of turn 3 we were still working on stem-changing verbs and finished the rules (e-i) and (o-u). We quizzed on this information and the began learning about several types of sports in Portuguese. We learned vocabulary that goes with these sports such as the equipment and verbs describing what an athlete would do in the sport. This unit culminated into a PowerPoint presentation of the sports we had studied. We then looked at prepositional pronouns, and then moved onto the culture of Brazil. This unit had us locate a certain aspect of Brazil and create a PowerPoint regarding that topic. I was assigned the Brazilian soccer player Pele and his life. After the presentation we were told to write an essay about every presentation we had seen retelling as much information as we had heard. Towards the end of the term we began studying the four rules of direct object pronouns.
